Hey there! Did you ever think about Barbie dolls and how they look? Imagine if they made a movie where famous actors played all the different Barbie dolls. Sounds fun, right? But guess what? The real Barbie movie is a bit different.
Barbie dolls have been around for a super long time, and they come in all kinds of styles to match different girls’ looks and backgrounds. So, the Barbie world isn’t all about everyone looking the same. Each Barbie doll has its own personality and actor.
One of the cool things is that Emma Mackey, a talented actress, was chosen to be in the Barbie movie. Now, here’s the fun part – some people thought she looked like another famous actress, Margot Robbie. You might know Margot Robbie from movies. Emma Mackey played the role of a smart scientist Barbie in the movie.
People have said that Emma Mackey looks a lot like Margot Robbie, but some people might not see it that way. Margot Robbie has different features like her eyes and dimples. Emma Mackey herself said, “I don’t really see the resemblance.” But it’s nice to be compared to someone famous!
At first, the movie was going to have a funny joke about how Emma Mackey’s Barbie and Margot Robbie’s Barbie looked so much alike. But when they dressed up in their Barbie outfits, they realized they didn’t really look that much the same, especially with their different hair colors. So, they decided not to include that joke in the movie.

Emma Mackey’s The Look Alike Joke:
Even though some people think they look alike, Emma Mackey is more focused on her work and not just how she looks. She thinks it’s better for people to talk about what they do rather than how they look. Sometimes in Hollywood, people might seem similar, but Emma wants people to see beyond that.
And guess what? Even though Emma Mackey doesn’t really look like Margot Robbie, she still got to be in the Barbie movie. She was really excited to work with Greta Gerwig, the movie’s director. And here’s a fun fact – another actor from the show “Sex Education,” Ncuti Gatwa, is also in the Barbie movie. It looks like they all admire each other’s work!
So, next time you see a Barbie doll, remember that they can be different just like people are. And even though Emma Mackey and Margot Robbie might not look exactly the same, they’re both talented in their own special ways!
